Hello First Grade!

We have new shoes...

new book bag...

We're very sleepy...

Must be time for the new School Year!!!
Here's our new FIRST GRADERS!!!
The obligatory first day at the bus stop shot!

Jack was so excited!  Mom cried again.  Jack said I could cry when he's 16 as that's close to an adult but not when he is only 6!  Hugs all around!

and there he goes...good luck Jack!!!

Goodbye Summer...

Camp Minnie's (and Pop Pop's)

Hello Mother.
Hello Father.
Greetings from Camp
Pop pop and Minnie

I'm having fun here
eating a ton here
I want to come back to this camp
every single year!

Minnie and Jack went on a date to see Pinocchio.  Here is Jack with Jiminy Cricket!

Pop Pop and Jack had a date too!  They went to the Air Museum and here is Jack in an F4!
Jack engaged in a serious conversation with this former pilot.  Jack kept inquiring as to the voice commands to control the plane.  The gentleman, equally serious, continued to explain voice controls did not exist when this plane was made.  Jack finally said, "Let's reset this conversation, where is the GPS?"  When the man responded there wasn't one Jack was DONE with this antiquated machine.  ;)
When I returned Jack shared that he played over 15 games with Pop pop.  I asked if it was fun.  He said, "Kind of.  It would have been more fun if he let me win one."  Seriously Pop Pop?  ;) ;) ;)

Jack has so many special memories.  Mornings with Minnie and Maddie; his dates with Pop Pop and Minnie; playing games; reading books and just being loved!  Thanks Mom and Dad...you did good with our boy!

ROARRRR!

While visiting Grandma and Grandpa, Jack and Bronwyn tried their hand at being scarers!

Jack's scene from Monster's University.

Bronwyn's version of Mike Wozawski.

And this is either Boo or Randall (depends when you ask her!

Happy Fourth!

Holiday traditions of cookouts, pool play, picnics and fireworks--all to celebrate the birthday of our country.  I asked Jack a few patriotic questions to test his Independence Day knowledge.

Q1:  What was America fighting for during the revolutionary war?
J:  I don't know.  Because the King of England was being unfair.

Q2:  What do the stars represent on the American Flag?
J: Easy, the 50 states.

Q3:  What do the stripes represent?
J: The original 13 countries.  :)

Q4:  What freedoms did the deceleration of independence give us?
J:  Freedom to do whatever we want?  (You wish Jack, ha!)

Q5:  Who is our president?
J:  Current is Presidemt O'bama.  First was President George Washington and 16th was President Abraham Lincoln.  (Someone paid attention in school last president's day!)

Q6:  What is the president's job?
J: Oh, he is the big boss.  He decides how to spend the money.

Q6:  What is your favorite part of the Fourth of July?
J:  Fireworks!

So, I've concluded my six-year old knows as much as most of us ;).

Jack Feet

Jack reports that our kitchen is 51 Jack feet long.

Princess Parade

To you these might be wooden discs.  To an imaginative two-year old they are  beautiful crowns for her princesses.  I think the two-year old's way of thinking is much better ;)

Hello?

Bronwyn was talking on her toy phone.  I was eavesdropping ;)

B: "Hello Minni?"

B: "Hi Minni, how are you?"

B: "Aw...Minni...you're the BEST!"

B: "Do you want to come to my castle?  It is beautiful!!!!"

B: "Okay, Minni...you can come to my castle and be kissed by the prince and live happily ever after.  Okay?  Okay.  The end."

I think Bronwyn needs to be exposed to a bit more than Disney princesses...what do you think?

Creeper in the Cage

By Jack

One day on 1 o'clock in the morning a creeper was crying on my front door stoop.  So, I dug a hole and I made it mossy and then I put a cage in it.  The creeper was caught in the cage and the creeper blew up.

By Jack/Steve

FYI... creepers are monsters (kind of) on a game Jack loves to play--Minecraft.  Steve is Jack's Minecraft alter ego :)

Ready or Not Here I Come...

Kids got me with a great hide-n-seek spot.  Quietest five minutes I've ever had ;)
