Spring Break Part One

Back in Time
A visit to the natural history museum was decidely BORING for our boy but THRILLING for our girl.  Who'd have thunk it?  Bronwyn has been begging to return ever since while Jack is questioning his father's judgment for buying the seasonal pass.
Science boy...finds...

Bronnie the Brontosaurus (or is this a Stegasaurus???)

I'm not afraid of no Gigantasaurus!!!

Not for Breakfast Jack!!!
Not for lunch T-REX!!!

Jack's favorite part...a section on Native American Indians and their Tree Canoes

Ended the day with a romp in the nature playground!

Tip Toeing through the Tulips

Jack's Horizon class was charged with growing a Tulip Garden and Jack was responsible for documenting.  They bloomed over Spring Break and Jack was there to capture the "evidence."

Walk Like an Egyptian

On the way home Friday Jack told us he just wants to scream out loud in the middle of class "TEACH ME ABOUT ANCIENT EGYPT!"  A bit odd, but the kid does love ancient history.  So Monday I decided we'd do something fun around the topic...We made name plates using Egyptian hyergliphics.  See I can google family activities just like the rest of them :)

Okay this has nothing to do with history.  We went to  catch air in the morning and Bronwyn won a balloon.  Here she is as the Easter Bunny!!!

First we made Salt Dough

Pixie Dust Abound
Pirate Fairy picnic lead to afternoon activities of fairy fun (pirate fun too!)  I could get used to this Spring Break Homecation stuff ;)

Experiment to mix colours like the fairies mixed their talents!

Fairy and pirate puppet show.

Pixie art (sugar water on black construction paper!)  Cool looking when it dries!
