Sibling Rivalry

Jack launched a raspberry war against Bronwyn this morning.  She ended the war by calling in reinforcements...listen carefully near the end of video to hear another first word...DAD!

Here they are in a frolicking game of jiggity-jig!

A Baby, a Point, and a Wave

Bronwyn has FOUR new teeth coming in on top.  She is a mess!  Phlegmy, sleep-deprived, and probably malnourished as she is boycotting the bottle while mom is away and nursing only during this trying period.  Yet, she still decided to show of some skills tonight.

Waving...started two months ago but now all you do is say hi or got to the garage door to leave and the waving begins, and begins and begins...

Next is pointing...started maybe a month or more ago.  Random points.  Now points to what she wants or as in this video...still random...

Finally,  her FIRST WORD!  Mama?  Nope!  DADA?  Debatable.  Princess Baby...you betcha...very apropos first word.  Here you catch the baby if you listen closely...she says it twice.

Baby Arrest

Bronwyn and I made it through an entire dinner before I noticed this...

GOTCHA!

Many Faces of Jack

Jack's recent "characters".  He loves dress up!

Astronaut policeman with breathing mask in case of galactic poisoning agents floating through the atmosphere...yes he made the mask out of a cup, straw and scotch tape.

Secret agent spy who moonlights as an airport security guard...with a headset made out of a play-kitchen scrub brush.  GROAN!

Reading Time

I was looking for an old Jack reading video to show then and now...and found this gem I have never shared before. Probably because it is so LONG! It was when Jack was 2.5 years old and "pretending" to read. The book was a favorite, The Bear Snores On and in retrospect I am quite impressed with his memory for a book with such quirky words in it. Take a quick look...and I emphasize quick :)

Cute, wasn't it? How far did you make it? How did we ever understand him back then? HA! Two years later Jack no longer pretends to read...but in order to read on film he needs to pretend to be someone else. Here he is as the mall security officer reading a BOB book (Bronwyn's favorite chew toy) to the kids at my toy shop...I am a toy store owner in case you didn't know ;) Oh and he reads in his "security guy" voice. And yes he still has on that blue nail polish :) Good grief!

You've heard of a meal to die for...what about bread to sleep for?

Come Rain or Shine

Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

We ate BBQ with the ants, listened to our city band play the Air Force theme song, watched Jack eat an eight dollar gallon tub of popcorn by himself, stood in multiple lines for a turn down the bouncy house slide, and saw a spectacular fireworks show in the pouring rain. Now that's patriotism!

Happy Fourth of July!

A Story by Jack

There was a little car named Red. He drove up the driveway super fast and rammed into the fence. BANG! A tow truck was called to come and get him out. He then backed out of the driveway and zoomed down the street. At the end of the street was a stop sign and he crashed right into it. CRUNCH! Then God created man. He had on a blue shirt, yellow pants, a white helmet with a visor and his name was Speedracer.

I asked for the ending and was told this store had "a very long middle." Red also zoomed off a mountain and crashed into some garage doors. Apparently it is a miniseries?

Praying Jack

Jack has been exploring religious themes lately. He drew a cross and asked for the address of Jesus because "I just know he's going to love this!" he asked for God's email address to send him a prayer request for all the victims of any and all natural disasters one can think of. He has us all playing church where mommy is the priest, daddy is the man reading the bible, Bronnie is the girl listening to the man reading the bible, and he is the church's security guard ready to shoot anyone for the slightest infraction...like chewing gum in church. Yes, the irony was not lost on us. Then tonight on his way to the bathroom he asked "can I pray while going potty?"

Oh me!

And just imagine if we went to church with any kind of consistency?

Oh my!

Sir Jack Playalot

A new passion is born. And a new character. Thank goodness...I was so tired of being the fire chief or police chief. I now get to be the Evil Queen and Bronwyn is the sweet Princess. Here is our Knight in shining armor.
