Things I'm Thankful For...

These are the moments you cherish.  They do love each other!

The moment lasted 2 minutes when Bronwyn woke to yell..."Jack's touching me!!!!!!!"

I am, however, very grateful for those two minutes :)

Chief Jack

Jack's studying the story of the first Thanksgiving.  He made a chart of everyone's favorite Thanksgiving food (turkey was the clear winner), is reading a book about the first settlers, and now this...

Animal Kingdom

Giraffes, rhinos, and zebras oh my!

Jack rode the primeval whirl for the first time!

We found Nemo during the live musical production.

The Yeti almost got us!  Still Jack's favorite ride.  Mine too.

Bronwyn licked a pink Popsicle for 7 straight hours.

We ordered a funnel cake that was raw inside.  Jack was so sad and then Gitar Dan sang him a song about it.

Bronwyn flirted with the alligator through your the Lion King show and then he selected her to be in the show!  She paraded around with the animals beating a bongo.  Jack got to tag along!

And Jack waited in line for 25 minutes to meet Pocahontas.  His favorite.  She was a few minutes late for her arrival.  At one past the expected arrival time Jack said, "I hope she isn't one of those people."

She wasn't.

Epcot

As we approached jack said, "look there's the giant ball of futurness"

Breakfast with princesses!  Bronwyn held  Cinderella's hand during the princess processional.

Jack landed him some princess kisses!

We conquered mission space, test track and soarin.

Slept around the world ;)

And ate with Chip and Dale!  Literally.  After a tickle war, in which Jack lost, Chip sat with us to steal our food.  Not a bad day at all :)

Magic Kingdom Day One

A few quotes:

"Wow, I didn't know Princess morning could be so much fun!"  Jack

"Mom, look at the high detailing." Jack

"Goofy is purple your favorite colour?"
"Cinderella is blue your favorite colour?"
"Sleeping Beauty is pink your favorite colour?"   Bronwyn

Jack danced with Belle and fought Captain Jack Sparrow.  Bronwyn got a hug from more princesses than a lunchbox can display ;)

10, 9 , 8, 7, 6...

Jack had an idea.  Let's do a countdown to our annual Disney Vacation.  So we painted a few popsicle sticks.  Glued on Mickey heads.  Numbered the sticks and I secretly noted an 'activity' to each stick.

Voila!

So far they have:

  • Emailed Mickey Mouse
  • Drawn a map of Magic Kingdom labeling our MUST DO attractions
  • Wrote a letter to our favorite character
  • Watched a Disney Movie
  • Painted a pumpkin silver to look like Cinderella's coach
And tonight the kids mad their list of the top five characters they want to meet when we head to the World...

This one belongs to Bronwyn.  Okay...do you see five characters?  Now take a guess at who they are...ready?  in clockwise order:

Mike (Monsters Inc.), Bullseye (Toy Story) Ariel, Mickey Mouse and Cinderella.

This one might be easier (given it is LABELED!!!)  Captain Hook; Phineas and Ferb; Mickey; Pocahontas (he lovesssssss her) and Lightening McQueen/Mater.

Let's see if their lists change as much as their Halloween Costumes ;)

Spooky Part II

I am not sure why Halloween is such a popular holiday in this house.  My kids missed the memo about fear of monsters, zombies and mummy's (oh my!)

Disney Family Date Night

It began when Jack pulled the night's Disney Countdown activity...
Disney On Ice!!!
Dinner with our loved ones!!!

Kids get requisite souvenirs dipping into their college fund and never to be seen again ;)

 Let the show begin!!!

Bronwyn was excited to meet her alter ego (remember when she called herself Alice?)

This one waited until intermission for his Cotton Candy

This one did not.
Villains made a spooky appearance!
The Gang closed the show!!!
But even with all the fun...at some point it's time to say "See ya real soon!" and "Sleep tight!"
Thanks for a wonderful date night kids!

Spooky

Halloween catalogs are part of her nightly bedtime stories.  She begs others to show her zombie videos, and now she wants to bring this 'baby doll' home for cuddling.

Happy Birthday Bronwyn!

Even writing this I am swallowing tears.  My baby is three!  I feel like this should be her first birthday...not the end of her toddler years!  I could not have wished for a more charming, beautiful, smart and sweet princess for a daughter.  Whether she is twirling her way through life (with an added karate kick here and there), squirrelling her way onto my lap during meal time; one upping Jack in a burping contest or flashing that "yea I know how to work it" grin on her father...she has brought nothing but smiles to our family and we all love her to pieces!  She is our family's princess!

So it is only fit that Bronwyn celebrate this milestone with her own fairy tale.  Bronwyn invited seven of her friends to her home to a fancy prancy princess party.

We rolled out the pink carpet for the arriving prince and princesses!

Anticipating the Royal Courts arrival!

Happy Birthday Banner!

Each princess picked her own crown (and swords were awarded to all princes)...

A carriage awaited the royal court...

Proving a box really is NOT A BOX!

Ooh...a Royal Feud!
The Following Royal Conference...

Wand Making Station

The Royal Family's Jewels (Bronwyn was so sweet and passed out rings to everyone!!!)

Dress Up Station

Special guest Belle paid a visit!

During story time Belle asked why Ariel wanted legs.  Bronwyn said, "So she could walk to the Dollar Store!"
Belle taught all the princesses how to dance, wave, courtesy, twirl and blow special princess kisses.  Bronwyn had a fancy coronation ceremony following a princess parade!

A rose for our rose!

Time for the Royal Banquet.  Pink lemonade with pink sugar rimmed glasses!  (blue straws available upon requets...though it was fun watching the men lick their pink sugar when they thought no one was looking ;)
Watermelon popcorn (we did serve fruit wands and crown sandwiches as well to balance all the sugar...)

The Banquet Hall!
Dessert Table
Awe...a closer look!  Yummy...

Princess cookies...and may I add that I am not cut out to work with fondant...there is a reason there are only six of these ;)
Belle lead the guest through a beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday.  I thought Bronwyn was going to cry out of happiness she looks almost overwhelmed with emotion.  She hasn't told me her wish yet...but I hope all her wishes come true (well until she is sixteen...hee-hee.)

Belle took a group picture prior to leaving us to get back to the Beast.

A very happy birthday girl!
Our princess guests left with one of these totes!
Her royal highness opened her gifts and she adored each and everyone!  She got a lot of Princess dolls and not a single duplicate!  She took her princess bear to dinner, Ariel crown and jewelry was her first box to be torn into, the jewelry box has had more play than a top 40 and her necklace from Nanna has been worn non-stop.
As her dad said, it may not be pretty but it comes with everything but indoor plumbing...She was truly joyous to receive this life size dollhouse (which luckily fit all those Disney Princess dolls she received!!!)

Wondering about Jack?  He and his friend were the "court jesters" for sure!
But Jack was happy partaking in some of the birthday activities ;)  He really wanted a hug from Belle (so did some of the Dad's...just saying!)
The party was as beautiful as she is.  Our Princess Bronwyn.  God Bless and may your life be 'Happy Ever After'...
